I wonder if any of you guys would even be interested in a trade like this, but I figured I could always check it out.

I've got an 06 Vespa GT200 scooter I'm looking to sell, and I'd like to replace it with a moped, preferably a puch. I'm pretty fond of Myke's magnum and was pretty pissed when he grabbed it out from under my nose @ vespastl... but that's water under the bridge. So anything similar to that. Basically I just want something I can start with, not too many problems, but enough problems to provide me with some wrench time.

I'm also down to just buy a moped and sell my scooter to some other person.

There are three magnums in St. Louis that we know of. One is Myke's, another is mine, another is for sale for $800. But I can almost guarantee that the seller won't trade for a newish Vespa.

Lauren, keep the GT, seriously. Mopeds can be had for pocket change compared to what that GT is worth. Scour craigslist for 'peds, watch the board here, and I'll keep an eye out for you too. I think you just want a toptank, not nessecarily a Magnum. Are you ok w/ step-throughs like a Maxi or a sweet looking Pinto/Swinger? Come by a fix-it day, see everyone's 'peds, maybe ride a few if they'll let you. (I know I owe you a ride for sure) See what you like, and then ask who's got stuff for sale.
Also, as you're a carless man, the GT is a much better replacement than just a moped. Yes, you can go carless on a moped, but you're gonna be going verrry sloooow, and you won't have nifty topcases and modern reliability. (speaking generally, of course)
Moped+GT. It's the way to be.

You could also sell the Vespa and buy upwards of 10 mopeds. Make 5 fast, keep 5 stock. You'll have at least one runner in there when you need it.

how much money are you looking for? i have a magnum minus the seat and engine but have a good e 50 witha biturbo. And most of (puch) sears free spirit i'd trade it needs seat cable chain stuff like that i probably have most of it though.

Okay, here's the plan.

1 - Sell the Vespa for $3200
2 - Buy the Magnum XK for $800
3 - Spend $1000 on the engine

There, now you've got a 50+mph magnum that is reliable. And you're still up $1400.

K, so the Vespa is gone... Just looking for a 'ped now. I'm wanting to buy mid-march. Again, I'd love a top-tank, but I'm down for whatever. Honestly, I want to start ridin' so as long as it won't be a whole summer to get it running, hit me up.

Just to re-iterate: I would LOVE a magnum, benelli, etc
